Free UK Calls to 101

0

We all may, at some point, find ourselves in need of calling 101 for assistance. No matter how we cut it, the statistics we want to compare to, or the conspiracy theories we do or don’t buy into, it can not be denied that we are living in exceptionally extraordinary times.

The globe is seeing something the magnitude of which has not been seen in modern history. The world’s hospitals are overrun, medical staff are at their limit, service workers are stretched thin, essential workers the world over are working around the clock, we are seeing a huge need for emergency supplies, there is no cure, no country is untouched by Covid19, the United Kingdom included.

In light of the challenges that present themselves, there is a dire need to alleviate the pressure now placed on 999 services while providing the necessary support required by millions of Brits, in particular the vulnerable. The Home Office has stepped up to the plate and requested that all non-emergency to the 101 number be free of charge as of the 1st of April 2020. The 101 service receives approximately 30 million calls a year and connects the public to the local police or an emergency service of their choice. All calls placed to the 101 number will show a zero balance.
