Telecom & Tech Inventions of Our Time (Pt 1)

0

We live in a world where telecom and technology have transformed our lifestyles, careers, and reality. We find ourselves in the future where the likes of Star Trek Voyager, A Space Odyssey, Back To The Future, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have dated into the past. This is a world where artificial intelligence, machine learning, cyber attacks, VR, and augmented reality are everyday life. It’s programing, tech engineering, and the telecom industries that are leading the way when it comes to technological development that has a real impact on the world.

HERE ARE THE FIRST THREE INVENTIONS:

Telecom & Tech Inventions of Our Time

5G: The EU 5G plan lays out the road map to uninterrupted 5G coverage, by the year 2025, for all major railways and roads across the region. Even with Brexit, the UK is directly impacted by the European Union’s approach. It’s not difficult to see how 5G and telecommunications are breaking ground as we move into the future. 5G supports a hundredfold increase in connected devices while offering network slicing, improved data rates, and ultra-low latency. This will lead to an enhanced customer experience, new telecom services, and upgraded network operations. 5G will change telecom’s role where they won’t only be technology distributors, but also service providers. Telecom will be required to engage with governments, enterprises, and customers to alter their sales approach and help customers leverage the power of 5G.

Artificial Intelligence (AI): Artificial intelligence is one of the arenas where telecom makes its make in the business world as we know it today. Virtual assistants, chatbots, and other AI elements run various programs and system tools behind the scenes that it now largely goes unnoticed. In the modern world, we go from the introduction of new tech to our lives to completely infused within a very short space of time. This is now an important tool used by telecommunications companies to improve customer service and general satisfaction. Artificial intelligence is also now used in the detection of fraudulent activity. Via predictive analytics, AI allows for telecom to establish actionable business insights from the volumes of data they gather every day.

Internet of Things (IoT): IoT and telecom are paired and predicted to disrupt the industry. Internet of Things technology aids telecom to monitor base stations and data centers remotely this ensuring as little downtime for the network as possible. The industry has a large push towards enabling device connectivity and is therefore one of the bigger players in the IoT market, which is essentially made up of items that are connected to the internet and each other. Since telecom is an integral part of providing Internet of Things infrastructure, the industry is perfectly positioned to create, develop, and in turn offer their own services for IoT. With IoT technology resulting in an increase of devices on the network, it presents added opportunity for privacy and security breaches, which is exactly what telecom needs to strategise, plan, and prepare for.
